Launch of the purpose-driven business ecosystem map

ReGenerate’s end-goal is to help make it is easier to start, grow and lead a purpose-driven business in the UK and beyond. Over time, through partnerships and research, we hope to put forward and drive reforms and recommendations that will help this part of the economy flourish.

As a starting point, we wanted to know where ReGenerate itself fits into the overall UK purpose-driven business ecosystem and who the key players are. So we created a map.

For more information, visit our Purpose-driven ecosystem map product page.

The ecosystem is the 'real world' space where all of the organisations operate in. We defined this space as containing the following elements that we feel are essential for success.

  • Research

  • Movements and campaigns

  • Government

  • Investment

  • Support and recognition

  • Networks

  • Consumer facing

We identified many of the key organisations operating in these spaces and drew them all together. We call this the purpose-driven business ecosystem map and we hope it is a useful tool for everyone.

A joint mission

As we built the ecosystem directory, we copied the salient paragraphs from each of the entity's Vision, Mission or About Us statements. From this collection we drew the wordcloud below and felt that we just had to share it.

We love that many of our core beliefs and assumptions about the ecosystem, and the reason why we feel this is such an important mission, are echoed, affirmed and amplified by those already doing such good work. All of our main beliefs have risen to the top, with one exception. We were expecting the importance of climate change to have bubbled up to the top as well.

This wordcloud was created using wordclouds.com.

Join in the conversation

We encourage conversation around this. Please feel free to share, tweet and comment. Over time, as ReGenerate grows, we would love to partner and collaborate with many of the organisations on this map.
